As a Selectman I focus on . . .

Transparency

Residents have a right to know how officials are making decisions, and officials have a duty to help residents stay up to date with what’s going on in the town. I will uphold Open Meeting Law standards, use Executive Session as sparingly as possible, as well as work with fellow officials to improve resident outreach. Sustainability

Under Article 97 of the Constitution of the Massachusetts Commonwealth, in Norwood you have a right to a clean environment. I will defend that right as both a Selectman and as a Light Commissioner. I will be an engaged Light Commissioner who maintains a strong working knowledge of: the factors that influence the energy markets; the health of the infrastructure that provides our power; emerging renewable technologies that could impact (or benefit) Norwood; as well as new opportunities to better serve residents. I will work with fellow officials and community members to ensure that Norwood meets and exceeds its Sustainability goals while providing great equitable service to residents. Tech FOR Residents

Times are changing fast, and we must be vigilant in ensuring that technology works FOR our residents, not against them. I anticipate that there will be many proposals put forward for improvements in town that leverage new technologies (online or otherwise). As a person who deals heavily with digital technologies for a living, I will apply my skills and connections to ensure that tech related initiatives around town are secure, inclusive, transparent, accessible, and well maintained.

Inclusive Policy

Residents of all ages, backgrounds, and ability should feel that Norwood is a place where they can be happy, safe, respected, able to thrive, and where they can meaningfully participate in their community.

Fun fact: Norwood was designated as an Age-Friendly Community! I can’t wait to help Norwood continue in that journey - I believe strongly that collaboration and social connections should span across generations!

Supporting Our Schools

Norwood’s youth, and the staff & structures that support them, are vital to our success. Every student needs the opportunity to thrive. Every teacher needs the resources to make that a reality. I look forward to collaborating with the School Committee, Superintendent, and every person who cares about making sure that our students and staff have what they need to prepare for bright futures.

Supporting Norwood’s Interests

I have spent a lot of my spare time over the years lobbying pro bono for issues that help residents. I engage with Statehouse officials, exchange ideas with elected representatives in other towns, and interface with Federal representatives. I will continue these activities as a Selectman. I will continue to build friendly civic connections that help us reduce costs, mitigate problems, and ensure that Norwood is getting every opportunity that is owed to us.
